Dear Tacoma Tool Library Members,
As we have previously communicated, a lack of grant funding since 2025 has left the Tacoma Tool Library in an unstable financial position. With your help, we want the Tool Library to be less reliant on grant funding and more self-sustaining with member investments. That means that we have increased the suggested member donations for new and renewing members, to better reflect the true costs of running the Tool Library.
The Board will continue to pursue grants and partnerships that help us experiment with new programs, learn, and grow, in doing so, we need a stable foundation of member donations as our base to continue serving our community. Accessibility remains a central pillar of our mission, and TTL will continue to ensure that no members are turned away if they cannot afford a standard membership donation. However, if you can afford to donate more, your donation will help us continue to provide that access to everyone in our community.
The new membership suggested donations will be updated on our membership page as of July 15th, 2026.
